Muhanned Cader (b. 1966 in Colombo, Sri Lanka) is an artist working and living between Colombo and Oxford, UK. In 1994 he received a BA in Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), Chicago, USA. Recent group exhibitions include, amongst others, Lines of Control, Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University, Cornell, USA (2012), and the Art Asia Pacific Triennial (APT), Brisbane, Australia (2009), where he presented The One-Year Drawing Project. Recent solo exhibitions were held at the National College of Arts, Lahore, Pakistan (2004). In 2005 Cader was presented with the Kala Suri, the Sri Lankan president’s title of honor for Excellence in the Arts.
