Pierre Bismuth (b. 1963 in Paris) is a conceptual artist living and working in Brussels, Netherlands. He is a self-taught artist. Recent group exhibitions include, amongst others, Desire Lines, Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne, Australia, and The End of Money, Witte de With, Rotterdam, Netherlands. Recent solo exhibitions were held at Musée des beaux-arts de La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, (2012) and Centre Pompidou, Paris, France (2007). In 2005 Bismuth was awarded an Oscar in the category “Best Original Screenplay” along with Michel Gondry and Charlie Kaufman for the film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
